CONFERENCE “POLITICS OF BUILDING PEACE IN THE REGION: BURDENS FROM THE PAST AND VISIONS FOR THE FUTURE”

It is our pleasure to invite you to the regional academic conference "Politics of building peace in the region: burdens from the past, visions for the future", which will be held at the Faculty of political science in Sarajevo, from 19 to 22 October 2017.

Conference participants will discuss about the following topics: Ethno-national interpretations of Bosnia and Herzegovina; Building peace in contemporary Bosnia and Herzegovina: Challenges and lessons learned; The role of external actors in the process of peacebuilding in the Western Balkans; Transitional justice and the culture of remembrance;  Civil society and peacebuilding; The future of peacebuilding in the Western Balkans.

Keynote speakers are prof. Nenad Dimitrijević (Central European University) and prof. Stef Jansen (University of Manchester). Conference panelists are university professors, researchers and representatives of civil society organisations from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Serbia and other countries.

Working languages of the conference are Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian and English. Presentations marked with (E) in the agenda, are in English. Translation into English is provided for panel 3 and 5.

The conference is organized by the Faculty of political science of the University of Sarajevo, forumZFD – Forum civil peace service in BiH in partnership with Southeast European Association supported by CRS/USAID.
