Dealing with the Forgotten goes online

A tryptic photo-exhibition of stories and memories from family members of the persons still missing from the last war in Kosovo goes online on April 28, 2020

Initially, with the support of forumZFD Kosovo, the exhibition “Dealing with the Forgotten” was opened on February 24, 2020, at the National Library of Kosovo in Prishtina.

In a collaborative effort between the curator Dardan Hoti, Youth Initiative for Human Rights Kosovo and forumZFD Kosovo, “Dealing with the Forgotten” was recreated into a 360° virtual exhibition to give the broader public access online.

The exhibition is based on a research project, conducted under the same title, by Dardan Hoti, Rozafa Kelmendi and Fitim Selimi, which aimed to document human rights violations and to encourage an accurate expression of respect and acknowledgment for the missing persons from the last war in Kosovo.

Photographs and stories exhibited are in tryptic format. By focusing on the surviving family members’ stories, memories and emotional connections, the missing persons are also portrayed. Whilst touring the 360° virtual exhibition, visitors have the option to download English-, Albanian- or Serbian-language versions of the exhibition catalogue, which contain photos and information.
